Or take a little walk for the historic city center of Zutphen and find a spot at De Wijnhuistoren, Stadsbrouwerij Cambrinus, de Pelikaan, the Enjoy Café or Uffies.
Zutphen, located along the Berkel and the IJssel rivers, is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands. The city has a rich history, many traces of which can be seen in its centre. Churches, parts of fortifications, stately warehouses, and merchant homes are still around to be admired. This beautiful architecture forms the backdrop for a lovely mix of shops, restaurants, events, and cultural attractions. Pay a visit to the unique stores and specialist shops and take a breather at one of the many casual dining options, restaurants, and cafés. The landscape around Zutphen is varied: go on foot or grab a bike, swing along the rivers IJssel, Berkel or Twentekanaal and enjoy the atmosphere in the surrounding villages such as Warnsveld, Almen and Vorden. The offer is as varied as the landscape is. Zutphen is the perfect base for a cycling or walking tour. After a cup of coffee and cake at one of the cozy terraces, you leave for a nice trip through the area and end up in the Hanseatic city again. End your day with a visit to the Musea Zupthen. Maybe you still have time (and energy) to discover the nice shopping streets with unique shops. Restaurants enough to regain energy and end the day.

Take a tour with a whisper boat. A whisper boat – (silent as a whisper our electric boats glide through the water) – takes you, in just over one hour, along the prettiest locations on the river “Berkel” and the canals around Zutphen. The boat trip begins and ends at the landing stage located near the centre of Zutphen, at Rijkenhage 1. During the boat trip the skipper will tell you about the history of the Hanseatic town of Zutphen in his own unique fashion; he will point out the many historical monuments along the route.
